A 61 year old man is facing charges after he and his adult son got into an argument around 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday, February 1st in their home in the 5400 block of Ervin Street.

That argument became physical when William Huffman went into his room and came back with a hatchet. He then held it above his head as if he was going to strike his son. The son threw an object at Huffman that hit a wall near him. The argument continued and Huffman threw an ashtray at his son, hitting him in the chest.

A 2 hear old girl was asleep on a couch during the argument. Lincoln Police found a hatchet inside Huffman’s bedroom.

Huffman was booked for terroristic threats, use of a weapon to commit a felony, possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, 3rd degree assault, and child neglect.

The son was cited and released for child neglect.
