Dutch man plans event to toss rotten eggs at Bezos mega yacht. Thousands say they’ll be there.

The other day I talked about how a Dutch city is taking a historic bridge apart just so Jeff Bezos’s new mega yacht can pass through. Since then, thousands of resident in Rotterdam, where the bridge is, have said they are going to be there when the yacht comes through so they can throw eggs at it. There’s a whole Facebook thing where a guy is asking people to take a box of rotten eggs with them to throw at the yacht. He also wrote, “Rotterdam was built from the rubble by Rotterdammers and we don’t just take it apart for the phallus symbol of a megalomaniac billionaire. Not without a fight.” When asked about all this, Pablo, that’s the guy’s name, said he’s “not too serious”. Even if he isn’t other people seem to be. Three thousand said they’re going to do it and another 10,000 have marked themselves as interested.

I’m not sure about the rotten eggs on a yacht thing though. They can pelt it, but it’s going to the ocean with all that water. It’s a self-cleaning environment for the outside of boats. What’d be really cool is if Jeff paid Cirque du Soleil performers to swing around the outside of the yacht to catch the eggs. He’ got the money. Heck, he has enough money that he could build robots that are just like Cirque performers to do it.
