New study shows low Vitamin D may mean worse Covid response.

By Austin Michael Feb 8, 2022 | 12:03 PM

A new study seems to make a connection between having low vitamin D and how serious it’ll be if you get Covid 19. They found that about half the people who were low on vitamin D before getting Covid got really sick. That’s opposed to ten percent of people who had good levels of vitamin D. The doctors in charge of the study called the difference “striking” and significant.

That’s actually a little scary to me. I had a blood test for vitamin D last September when doctors where trying to figure out the breathing health issue I was dealing with. Even though I’m pretty good about being out in the sun and I drink a lot of milk, my Vitamin D number was 26. I’m told that it should be between 30 and 100. So, supplements every day.

That said, if you want to keep your Vitamin D up, get out in the sun and eat fatty fish like salmon (yummy), mushrooms, caviar, yogurt, tofu, egg yolks, or liver (yucky).

Also, a previous study had found that vitamin D cut the risk of respiratory infections.
