The hottest new delicacy at restaurants

By Bic Feb 15, 2022 | 12:12 PM

Would you give this a go, or a HECK NO?  Forewarning . . . this may make your stomach turn.

As Brooke mentioned on Brooke and Bic Mornings, “The New York Post” just published a write-up on SQUIRREL MEAT and how it’s the hottest new delicacy at restaurants.  Well, restaurants in the U.K. (for now).

Obviously if you’re a hunter this isn’t a big deal for you, but when it comes to restaurant menus??  Really??

Yes . . . really . . . because people in the U.K. are seeing squirrel on menus more and more.  And get this, they’re not even eating their own squirrels . . . they’re eating OURS.  The North American grey squirrel is considered an invasive species over there.  So killing and eating them is encouraged.

LOL, gross!  I can’t believe this is a real thing, but then again I guess I’m not surprised.

The ‘eating squirrel at restaurants’ trend may not happen here in the states anytime soon, but some fine dining restaurants might jump on it.  Supposedly, it’s perfectly legal to kill and eat squirrels in most parts of the country.  New York City has a squirrel-hunting season that runs from November through the end of February.

When Brooke and I were discussing this on the show, we received a call from a listener who enjoys eating squirrel.  Believe me, you must listen to our brief conversation below.
