Guy has parachute malfunction with both main and backup and survives mostly unhurt. Video of the whole dive from camera next to him in blog.

Warning: There are a couple of cuss words from the skydiver when he realizes what’s happening and tries to deal with it.

Otherwise, holy altitude, Batman!!! This guy is part of a professional sky diving group in California. At 1:17 he pulls the cord and nothing happens. He realizes it a couple seconds later and pulls the backup which releases, but then the parachute starts getting twisted up. He spends the rest of the fall trying to hold it open.

What I don’t get is where is the camera at. It’s constantly trained on him, but doesn’t seem to be actually attached to his body. AT the beginning, you can see the other divers with Go Pros attached to their helmets. But this guy’s camera moves away and back in close to him and it rotates around his body. I thought it was another diver at first, but then I thought, “Why wouldn’t the cameraman pull his own chute and try to help.” My tech guy, Kenny, thinks it might be a 360 camera attached to the helmet, but we can’t see how.
