I honestly think sea creatures are way smarter than we give them credit for. Case in point, Scott Johnson fell off his boat off the California coast last month. His boat floated away before he could catch it. So he decided to swim to an oil rig that was closer than land. As he swam, a seal popped up and swam along with him, nudging Scott in the right direction until he finally got to the safety of the oil rig after hours in the water. Scott says that along the way, he talked, sang, and told jokes to the seal to keep his spirits up.
Remember when the Lincoln Children’s Zoo used to have seals? I used to always ask the zoo’s President John Chapo if I could swim with the seals. You had to have a bunch of training and other accreditation so he never let me.

I was able to find these gems. They bring back good memories.
