I was talking with Jill and Bic about my colonoscopy and they both told me the picture of me that I posted is a bit unnerving. I had actually been thinking the same thing when my wife showed it to me Monday night. The first thought I had was, “It’s a bit unsettling seeing yourself unconscious on a hospital gurney.” I mean, it’s different than a picture of you sleeping or a “ha ha” pic that someone took after you passed out at a party. The whole hospital aspect adds drama and a sense of seriousness that’s uncomfortable.
The jist of what Bic and Jill was getting at is that I look like I’m in the hospital……. Dead. It almost looks like it came out of the morgue. I could make it even more uncomfortable for everyone. I could mention that the doctors let me keep a shirt on, but it’s only hospital gown from the waist down. But I won’t.
