Gene therapy reverses aging in mice.

By Austin Michael Mar 15, 2022 | 6:50 PM

According to The Guardian, scientists have successfully taken middle aged mice and rejuvenated some of their tissues, in essence, making them the cells more youthful. You could tell it was working because the mice quit complaining about loud music and started watching “Euphoria”.

Anyhooo, a team of US scientists pulled it off using a specific type of gene therapy. And it wasn’t instantaneous. It worked best when it was applied over a 7 to 10 month period and really showed in their skin and some organs. This is good for mice, but they’re hesitant to use this particular trick on humans. Previous attempts using human cells ended up turning into clusters of cancer cells. One other thing, it did NOT have any effect on the senior mice who were the equivalent to an 80 year old or older human.

But, if they can figure it out, it won’t necessarily mean we’ll all live forever, but it does mean it could be big in fighting Alzheimer’s, cancer, and just about everything else.
