Researchers are developing an amazing new insulation material for things like mugs, cups and all sorts of containers. And it’s based on the skin of squids. Even the short version of the scientific explanation, something about metals on a poly something separating in certain conditions and coming back together…….. it’s a mouthful. Suffice to say, it’s got something to do with the way squids can change colors in their skin and even do patterns with those colors.
Experiments showed that the material would be 300% better at keeping coffee warm. They say the new material is also environmentally sustainable and can be recycled easily in big quantities.
