CHI Health Creates Travel Program For Full-Time Employees

By Tom Stanton Apr 12, 2022 | 3:22 PM

CHI Health is taking steps to solve their staffing shortage that was made worse by the COVID-19 pandemic.  They have launched an internal travel program for full-time employees, including nurses, technicians, radiologists and pharmacists.

“They’ll be deployable to any one of our 28 hospitals in our four state area,” says Timothy Plante, CHI Health’s Division Vice President of Nursing.  “The work assignments are 6-12 weeks and they are considered full-time employees, which means they get full pay, full benefits.”

He says using their own full time employees in the Midwest Internal Travel Program eliminates the need for third party staffing agencies and travelers to fill workforce gaps.

The program is also open for anyone interested in joining the CHI Health team.
