Tick bites can cause deadly meat allergies.

By Austin Michael Apr 28, 2022 | 7:31 PM

A tick bite can make your body allergic to meat. No more hot dogs, steaks, hamburgers, delicious tacos, or anything that has meat in it. You get bit and it gives you Alpha-gal syndrome that has something to do with a molecule in red meats and can make you sick or even die after eating meats. And not just eating. Sometimes just the smell can cause a reaction. Right now it’s primarily spread by the Lone Star tick. So, thankfully, right now it’s mostly in southern states. However, they say that it is spreading to the Midwest. It’d be wise to take preventative measures. Do things like using a chemical repellent with DEET in it or tucking pant legs into your socks. I can’t imagine never being able to eat meat. It’d completely ruin pizza for me.

Here’s a link to more tips from the CDC.
