Graduation season is upon us, including my favorite young lady on the entire planet. My niece, Goose, is graduating from high school Saturday, and I am so very proud of all of her accomplishments (and the list is ridiculously long), of the young woman she’s become, and oh so very excited for everything ahead for her. I am also quite literally the gif of that kid that’s trying not to cry as he’s saying “I’m fine. Everything’s fine.” The last school year of “lasts” has been killer, especially the last two weeks of so many at once. The little girl I swear I was just waiting in the hospital to be born is graduating high school! How is that possible? Again, I need the “I’m fine. Everything’s fine” gif.
This time of year is also such an inspiring time with so many amazing graduation speeches, including this young woman whose high school principal said some pretty nasty things about her. So she showed him that she can do anything, and graduated as her college Valedictorian.
The #LifeIsForService quote Elizabeth used is a plaque on the Rollins campus that also inspired Fred Rogers class of ‘51 there to become Mr. Rogers. He carried a copy of it in his wallet for many years, until he received a framed version for his desk. https://t.co/BGHs5XnDvb pic.twitter.com/oUfZZWJnWv
