The shirt that I’m wearing today hung in my closet, untouched for 10 years.
It’s not like it’s one I had that went out of style. It’s not one of those clothing items that I’m holding on to because just the right occasion might come up when I’ll need it. Nor is it one of those instances where it doesn’t fit anymore, but I’m keeping it because “Someday I’ll lose those pounds. I just don’t feel like it right now………. or the last 10 years.”
It’s a simple, black polo. When I bought it, I really liked the feel of the fabric and the style of the shirt. So I bought two of them. I started wearing the other one 10 years ago and left this one hanging. The first one is still in great condition. No tear or rips or holes. It’s just in the laundry. And when I saw this one hanging there this morning, I realized that it has been untouched for ten years and that the other one could probably go on for another 10. I thought to myself, “I might as well start wearing it. I paid for it.” So, here we are in my brand new, 10 year old shirt.
