You may or may not have heard me mention one, two or a hundred times my hometown of Buffalo. Home of hot wings, Bills and Beef on Weck (also fun fact: certain parts of the city smell like Cheerios because there is a Cheerios manufacturing factory there.)
This past Saturday, my beautiful hometown was struck with a horrific tragedy when a gunman entered a supermarket full of people minding their own business, buying groceries, He opened fire hitting thirteen people, killing ten.
This heartbreaking tragedy has shaken me to my core. It made me question a lot of things. I won’t get into his rationale or motivations because it doesn’t matter (well it does but…) What ultimately matters are the lives of the lost victims, their families and the community. When tragedy strikes we all want to find ways to help. If you would like to help, here are some ways.
To find out more about the victims including a retired Buffalo police officer who was working security, a wife/mom who had just come from her daily visit with her husband at a nursing home, and a young woman who was in town visiting her brother in the hospital who had just had a bone marrow transplant, click here
