As heard on Brooke and Bic Mornings, there’s a school in Germany that recently retired a skeleton that was used in a biology classroom since 1952. But instead of tossing the skeleton or putting it in storage, they placed it in a small coffin . . . held a funeral service . . . and BURIED IT in a legit cemetery.
Sounds very detailed and sorta extreme, right? But here’s the thing . . . they kinda HAD TO because the skeleton was REAL. Yes, REAL!
Did your school ever have a REAL skeleton in your classroom?? This is news to me . . . but I guess back in the day, many classroom skeletons were indeed real, and this was one of those relics.
The school said THIS particular skeleton had the bones of an unknown woman . . . the burial was a proper burial with a funeral officiant . . . and the coffin even featured the symbols of all the major religions.
Supposedly the students had been wanting the skeleton to be buried for years, but recent plans were delayed because of the pandemic.
So what’s replacing the real skeleton? A fake one. The school will use a plastic skeleton going forward, but the story isn’t over yet. Before the funeral, the school collected a DNA sample from the bones. So they may learn more once they receive the DNA results.
Crazy!
