A Swiss company held a worker retreat where employees were asked to walk over hot coals. It’s the big team building thing these days. Twenty-five people ended up injured. Which then leads me to ask, nobody thought it would be a good idea to stop after the 1st dozen charred the bottom of their feet?
Ten ambulances had to be called in, with two emergency medical teams and police. Thirteen people had to stay in the hospital.
Again, were they all blindfolded with ear plugs in? One, two, and maybe three people getting hurt; that I can understand. How did it get to 25? According to the article, people walked over the coals and then complained of pain. Apparently no one listened to them or the next 3 that complained or the three after that or the three after that………. At least they all got hurt as a team.
The CEO of the company put out a letter saying he wishes them a speedy recovery. He also made sure to note that it was a voluntary activity.
