I wanted to give a GIGANTIC “Thank You” to Arbor Day Farm, The Radler Bike Festival, everyone who worked at the festival, the sponsors, and Connie, for letting me MC the event again this year and letting B107.3 be a part of it. The ride routes were great. The rides were great. The activities were great. Every one of the riders I spoke with, and I spoke to almost all of them, said they loved it. There were people from Kansas, Colorado, Iowa, and around Nebraska who participated. Jenny and I did the 30 mile bicycle route. At one of the water stops we talked to a guy who owns an electric bike shop in Omaha. He was cruising along the route to make check to see if anyone needed help. He was telling us how great they are and I said something about maybe when I’m in my 70s and that I don’t need an electric bike. Basically I was doing the “I’m a tough man” talk and giving him a hard no. Then later, we hit a particularly hard hill and had to walk our bikes up it. He just happened to be cruising by right then. He took advantage of the moment to comically taunt me. As he passed us, while we walked our bikes, he said, “I could fix that.” I had that coming.
Again, thank you to everyone who was there. I look forward to doing it again next year.
