We know that Netflix will make a commercial version of its service available towards the end of the year. No biggie. What a lot of people will be surprised to learn is that if you use that tier, you might not have all the same content available as paying for the non-commercial service. It’s being reported that there might be licensing issues for them with the commercial tier. If they can’t be resolved then those customers will end up getting less: less movies, less tv shows, less everything. As far as I know, that doesn’t happen to customers on other streaming services. I’m pretty sure that I get everything on commercial Hulu as I did when I paid for not having commercials. That’d be a crock if Netflix did that. You’d be paying less, but you have to sit through commercials, commercials that they’re getting paid for to make up for you paying less. And then they’re going to short you on product? Bernie Madoff heard about this and even he was like, “Uhhh, hmmmm, that’s uh, that’s just wrong.”
Netflix’s commercial tier might come with less programming available.
