Friday Feel Good Feature
This inspiring story is about a son’s gift to his mother that was years in the making.
Melanie Shaha, mother of six from Arizona, was fighting a brain tumor that had come back for the third time. The first two times, it was removed with surgery. This time though required radiation. That caused all of her hair to fall out. For a lot of people, the hair grows back. Not for Melanie. So, her 27 year old son Matt decided to give her his hair. But it would take a while because he wanted to grow it out first; two and half years. Then he cut off his long locks, sent it to Compassionate Creations where they stitched it into a wig that cost $2,000 to make, and then had a profession hair dresser cut and style it how Melanie liked.
When asked about it, Matt said, “It was a no brainer. She gave me the hair in the first place.”
