I can smell ‘em now fresh from the oven. A loaded cookie tray with hot, gooey, delicious chocolate chip cookies. Homemade from scratch of course. 🤤
Thursday is National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day . . . and ahead of the holiday, a poll just came out about cookies. And one of the MAJOR questions was answered.
Is chocolate chip still our favorite?
Chocolate chip lovers . . . don’t worry . . . IT IS our favorite cookie. It beat peanut butter cookies, double chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, and shortbread. I’m not sure about you, but I’m an Equal Opportunity Cookie Lover. Mmmm. 🤤🤤🤤
Here are some other cookie facts for you to digest:
- The average American eats 21 cookies a month. One in four admit they eat more than that. 😲 (Here I thought I ate a lot of cookies, but apparently I’m not.)
- 41% of us think we’ve had enough of them in our life to call ourselves a “cookie expert.” The average person thinks you need to eat at least 319 cookies before you can say that. (If you do the math, at 21 cookies/month, that would take a little over a year.)
- According to the poll, the perfect *chocolate chip* cookie is soft and chewy . . . made with brown sugar . . . and just came out of the oven. 🤤🤤🤤
- 61% say a really good cookie can turn your whole day around. (YES!!) 😍🤤

Some of my favorite cookie stops 🤤 (so far) in Lincoln: Eileen’s Colossal Cookies, The Warm Cookie, and Goodly Cookies. In Omaha: Crumbl Cookies.
