There will be a Halloween candy shortage, especially chocolate.

A few weeks back I talked about how we can expect a chocolate shortage because the biggest factory in the world had to shut down. A week later, I talked about a coming shortage of cocoa beans. Guess what? Hershey’s has announced that they won’t be able to make enough candy for Halloween this year. I expect the other companies to be in the same boat. And you know that this is going to ruin all the day after Halloween candy sales, unless you like tons of candy corn. Expect the candy that’s available to skyrocket in price, again. Already, an 11 ounce bag of chocolates that used to be $2 is $5. Some candy alternatives for Halloween could be stickers, temporary tattoos, and some of those plastic rings that have spiders and bats on them. I loved those when I was a kid. I would say fruit would be a great alternative, but have you seen the price of apples lately??? Maybe buy a bunch of grapes and hand out 3 to 5 to each kid.
