Lincoln Police are investigating a homicide that happened early Wednesday morning near 3rd and P Streets. During a news conference, Police Chief Teresa Ewins says officers found a 60 year old man dead in a field northwest of the intersection.
Ewins says the man was killed by a bladed weapon and had a wound to his neck. She says a weapon possibly used in the killing has been recovered at the scene.
Ewins says they are still piecing together the events leading up to the homicide and says they are are trying to identify people who may have witnessed the crime.
