$250k in gold was hidden in a house! A British couple moved into a home built back in the 1700s. They were starting to tear up floorboards as part of some renovations when they found a metal pot. Inside the pot were a bunch of old British gold coins. They believe the coins belonged to a rich family who were in the mercantile business. And apparently, burying their gold coins was the safest way to store their money. The couple is going to put the coins up for auction. They expect to get about $250,000 out of it.
If you find something like that in your house, wouldn’t you want to look for more? I wouldn’t be able to get the thought out of my head that if they buried one pot of gold coins and they were the wealthiest family in that area, surely they must have buried more. I’d be out in the yard with a shovel every night. I would be knocking on walls to see if could hear anything clanking.
