The lead Goonie will be in Lincoln Thursday evening. Sean Astin will be at St. Mark’s Methodist Church between 6:30 and 8. He’ll be speaking about mental health and how families can deal with it. Sean’s mom, Patty Duke, dealt with bipolar issues. For a long time while he was a kid, she wasn’t diagnosed.
Let me be the first to welcome Sean to town. Also, thank you Sean for traveling the country and speaking about mental health. I had an uncle who was schizophrenic and lived on the streets for decades. I know a woman who is dealing with deep depression to the point of literally not leaving her couch for days. I fight depression and am not ashamed, at all, to say that I’ve sought treatment and have gotten better because of it.
You have to register to see Sean. Here’s a link to do it it at.
