Comedian Tom Mabe videotaped himself trick or treating with a fake child. It wasn’t even a real human. It wasn’t even alive. He dressed up a life sized doll in a Spiderman costume and went door to door. He’d set it on the porch, ring the door bell, and then pass it off as a real child. And apparently no one ever noticed. The doll has its arms stiffly extended with a bag in the hands. People dropped candy right in. No one seemed to pick up on the fact that the thing didn’t move at all or was breathing. Then again, I’m not sure I would have known it was a fake boy. Some kids get real nervous, shy, and quiet once you open the door. They’ll literally just hold their arms straight out with the bag held between them and not say a thing. One woman even bent down so she was face to face with the doll, handed it candy, and then asked, “What do you say for the candy?” Tom stepped in and said, “He’s deaf.” Another man started using sign language.
