Last month we were all wondering if the trailer for the new “The Munsters” was a joke or really representative of the movie because it was so bad. Wonder no more. I pulled it up on Netflix yesterday. I did not finish. It’s terrible. There are bad movies that are bad enough to be good for some laughs and where you know the makers aren’t hiding the fact that they know they’re making a bad movie like “Shark Side Of The Moon” on TUBI.
You can tell “The Munsters” was completely done on a sound stage with limited props. There are so many close ups and medium close ups that I’m guessing that if they zoomed out too far, you’d be able to curtains at the edges of the screen. The acting is terrible and over the top. There’s one part where you can tell that one actor would say a line and then they paused so there could be an edit to pick up the response from another character on a different camera and there’s a weird lag in the flow of conversation. The makeup and costumes were pretty good for the most part. So, there’s that. One star out of 8.
