One of the greatest setters in Nebraska volleyball history now stands alone.
On her tenth assist of the night, Nicklin Hames broke the school-record for career assists, passing Fiona Nepo’s mark of 4,824. Her 20 assists for the match put her at 4,835.
Those assists helped No. 3 Nebraska sweep Illinois 25-14, 16, 22. The win is the 11th in a row for Big Red and sixth straight sweep.
The Huskers outhit the Illini .320 to .161.
Five players posted at least five kills, led by Whitney Launstein with 13 on .346 hitting. Madi Kubik was next with 10 kills on .421 hitting.
Next up is a match that has been circled since the schedule came out. Nebraska travels to Madison to take on No. 5 Wisconsin for the first time since the two met in last season’s national title match.
