Pets are just as good as humans. New study about socializing and your brain.

By Austin Michael Oct 24, 2022 | 6:55 PM

Make your brain work better by petting dogs. I’m in. A new study is saying that petting our pets might be just as good as socializing with humans.

So, basically, I can get the same benefits if I give snuggles to my guinea pig as I would by hanging out with my crazy human friends? Oh, I like the sound of this.

The guys in white lab coats had people interact with dogs while measuring the blood flow and a few other things going on in the frontal lobe of their brains. The frontal lobe is the area that covers social interactions. They found greater activity when the humans played with the dogs. This is important because there are a lot of people who don’t get a lot of interaction with other humans including the elderly. This helps prove that a pet can help them be happier and more healthy mentally.
