Bring down your stress levels by having dinner with your family. The American Heart Association has found that 91% of people surveyed said that they are less stressed after having meals with their family. 67% said that sharing a meal reminds them about how important it is to connect with people. 57% percent said it helped them slow down and take a break. 70% said they’d feel less stressed at work if they had more time to take a meal with a co-worker.
That reminds me of when I was a salesperson at a furniture store. We got an hour to eat, but never at the same time as anyone else. And you didn’t dare leave the building because if someone you had helped came back to buy, you had to share your commission with whoever rand it up. It was actually more stressful because we had to eat in this tiny, cluttered room and were constantly poking our heads out to see if a prospect came back.
Of the 1,000 people they surveyed, everyone said they ate alone at least half the time.
