“It was a horrible experience!” That’s what some guy on a news clip said when asked about trying to get tickets to Taylor Swift. He made it sound like he’d been forced for walk through a desert while being poked with a sharp stick.
Anyway, it got me wondering how the ticket sales problem could be fixed. Because, the biggest problem is computer bots and people buying up lots of tickets to re-sell. That made me think about how the people who don’t trust computer voting want to go back to paper ballots. And it struck me, that is the answer to ticket buying. Let’s go back to the days where we had to stand in line for hours at the box office then pay a person though a window slot. I’d like to see some jerk try to buy hundreds of tickets at once that way. Even over the phone might work. I remember the first time I found out you could buy tickets over the phone. It seemed like technology had jumped light years into the future. I was like, “What do you mean I can buy tickets to Miami Sound Machine on the phone? Really!?!” Now, if you have to leave a bowser tab open for more than half an hour it’s a “horrible experience”.
