A little girl in LA, named Madeline, sent a hand written letter to the county asking if she could keep a unicorn in her yard. That is, if she could find one. It’s so cute and she was so polite in her letter even asking them to send a letter in response. Which they did in a wonderful way.

The animal control people wrote that she can keep a unicorn in her backyard, but there are guidelines. It has to be given regular access to sunlight, moonbeams, and rainbows. The horn has to be polished once a month. And it must be fed watermelon at least once a week. They even wrote up an official unicorn license which they included. Then to top it all off, because unicorns are very rare and hard to find, the department is going present Madeline with a plush unicorn doll on December 16.

A spokesperson for the Animal Control and Care department said that they often have to deal with bad animal situations. So, when there’s a situation like this, it lifts their hearts and puts them on cloud 9.
