Drones you can eat. New way to help in disasters. Vid in blog.

A group of Swiss innovators have developed a drone that has wings you can eat. The idea is to be able to get resources to people that are stranded in places that help can’t get to quickly. These edible wings are made out of rice cakes. Not the most satisfying food, but better than nothing if you’re trapped on a mountain. The cakes are held together with gelatin like a glue. They tried chocolate, but it didn’t work as well, which is a shame. I mean that only half-jokingly. In World War 2, the government hired Nestle to create chocolate bars that had huge calorie loads and wouldn’t melt very easily. They were survival candy bars.

Anyway, they’re working on making other parts of the drone using edible materials and a 3-d printer. The same group is also working on creating edible robots. Let’s hope they’re not talking robots. I wouldn’t be comfortable eating something that just told me it was there to save me, “Human. Help is on the way. Until then, please pull my head off and use it for sustenance. It is rich in proteins and vitamins. Eat my head.”
