Betty Crocker has released its list of most searched for holiday desert and party platter recipes. They broke it down state by state. Getting right to it, Nebraskans wanted to find out how to make Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookies the most. These are the kind that people usually put the chocolate that looks like stars in the middle. I’m not a fan. They’re always too dry and crumble everywhere and the chocolate stars always feel like wax that doesn’t melt in your mouth.
For our neighbors in Kansas, It’s Strawberry Poke Cake. That’s something I can get behind. It’s soft, fluffy, and sweet. And you put real strawberries on top. Not some waxy version of chocolate that Brachs probably had sitting around their factory since 1960.
In Iowa, it’s salsa. That’s not a Christmas dish………… but it’s Iowa. They get confused. It is their own version of salsa called Iowa Hawkeyes Black and Gold Salsa. It’s mostly corn and beans.

BTW, Nevada likes something I had to look up because I’d never heard of it before- Chocoflan. It’s a custard.
