It wasn’t a ghost after all. AKA- Something squirrely is going on in my house.

As I was getting dressed yesterday morning, I noticed a light scratching sound. Just a light scritch, scritch, scritch that seemed to move from one side of my house to the other. I could barely hear it with the TV on. So I hit mute and put my ear to the wall. I couldn’t tell if it came from outside or inside. I chalked it up to the ghost that lives in our house.

Yes, we have a ghost. Our guinea pig will stop and stare into a specific corner of his enclosure for minutes sometimes and then, frightened, run to his hiding place. That just one of the many unexplained strange things in our house that we blame on a ghost.

Anyway, it happened again this morning. It seemed to be coming from outside on our deck. I gathered my courage and went to investigate. It turned out to be my squirrel friend who I’ve mentioned before. He was digging in our gutter for some reason. So I walked up, said hi, and asked what he was doing. He just stared at me. He didn’t talk this time. I’m guessing that he’s scratching the ice in the gutter to get some water. I didn’t have time to grab a ladder and investigate, so I just threw a carrot on the roof and went to work.

The ghost is probably mad that I blamed it.
