A 77 year old man in Colmar, Pennsylvania, drove straight into an automatic car wash, accelerated, hit some machinery, and flipped his car inside the wash. It took rescuers 90 minutes to get him out of the car. And yes, it was all caught on video.
He drove right through one of those drop down arms that are supposed to keep cars from passing. It was like a movie car chase. He just rammed through. Then it was straight inside. What’s even crazier is that he paid at the machine in front of the arm before crashing through it. As he crashes through, his door is open as well. Every article I’ve read and news report I’ve watched is calling this an accident. I bet he didn’t put in park while he paid. Then he freaked out when the car took off and accidentally hit the gas.
You wouldn’t believe how many videos I found of cars just racing into and through car washes and people who don’t know how to put their cars in neutral or park. I’ve posted a few on my blog.
