Netflix password crackdown to begin any day. How it’ll work and what you’ll see if you cheat in blog.

The Netflix crackdown is happening soon. If you’re using somebody else’s password and do not live in the same home, chances are you’ll be out of luck. They’ll automatically be looking at IP addresses, what devices are logged in, and the activity of those devices. If they don’t like what they see, a message will pop up on the screen offering you a chance to sign up for your own account. It also offers to send a verification code to the owner’s phone if it actually is the rightful user. I couldn’t find an exact date on when it’ll go into full effect, but I’m told it should be done across the board within the next couple months.

They’ve also started putting in shows that only update once a week like Disney and Hulu. I was watching one over the weekend without knowing it. When I 1st turned it on, it said 9 episodes total. After 2 episodes it went back to the first. It took me a minute to realize that there wasn’t going to be a new one until next week. I prefer having the option to binge. Jenny and I like to find a series that has several seasons. Then we watch one episode per night until the end. That way we can focus on what’s going on in that show and not forget by the next week or be distracted by other show plots.
