Is this something you do? Adding olive oil to your morning brew?
Starbucks is adding olive oil to three new beverages starting this week in Italy. The drinks will make their debut in the U.S. this spring starting in Southern California, then nationwide. The drinks are all part of a new line called “Oleato”.
One is a latte with oat milk . . . the second is an iced hazelnut espresso drink . . . and the third is a cold brew version with a double serving of extra olive oil.
If you’re like me asking WHY? The addition is supposed to make your coffee healthier (despite it adding 120 calories). Also Starbucks’ CEO went to Italy last summer and learned a lot of folks drink a spoonful of olive oil every day for health reasons. And it is healthy according to studies.
The man in charge at Starbucks, CEO Howard Schultz, thinks it’ll sell and “will transform the coffee industry”.
