First William Shatner went into space, for real. Now, another Star Trek cast member is heading to the stars… and she won’t be coming back. The ashes of Nichelle Nichols who played Lieutenant Uhora are going up on a rocket called The VULCAN Center Rocket. Other people’s ashes will be aboard as well as DNA from Ronald Reagan, John F Kennedy, and George Washington.
Why does anyone have a collection of DNA from George Washington and other dead Presidents? Is it to clone them and start a baseball team? Seriously. Is there a plan for a Presidential Justice League someday? What else are you doing with the DNA of a guy that’s been dead for over 200 years?
The Vulcan Rocket will take off from Cape Canaveral on May 4th, which is ironic. That’s the day when Star WARS fans celebrate that franchise.
