The website “The Impulse Traveler” put out a list of the Top Ten States People Confessed They’d Outright Avoid Traveling through. Guess what? Nebraska is on that list. I’ve gone back and forth from one end of Nebraska to the other and back so many times that I knew it’d be on that list and exactly why. People responded that it’s a boring state to drive through. One man said, “My wife refuses to drive through Nebraska anymore since it’s so homogeneous, infinite identical crop fields.”
Texas is on the list partially because of terrible rest stop bathrooms. South Carolina showed up because of bad roads. I think I’d prefer boring to bad roads. The list is mostly Midwest and Southern states, except for Pennsylvania. They seem to have gotten listed because of all the construction work on the roads.
There are fun things to see while driving through Nebraska. Everyone knows Carhenge, but have you seen the giant fork and spaghetti called Stile de Famiglia? It’s in Omaha. Also, the World’s Largest Porch Swing in Hebron. There’s a museum dedicated to Clown Dolls which isn’t creepy at all. That’s in Plainview.
