Netflix announced that more “Stranger Things” is going to be on the way! Buuuuuuut, it’s going to be animated. The Duffer brothers, who created the show, said that they’ve always dreamed of doing an animated Stranger Things in the vein of old school Saturday morning cartoons.
Here’s where that confuses me. I grew up watching the same Saturday morning cartoons they did. I distinctly don’t remember any of them having monsters that eat people and mad scientists that kill other people. I remember a bumbling dog detective that knew Kung Fu and a giant talking shark that sounds like Curly from the 3 Stooges. All of them getting into mischief, but never actually causing fear and bloodshed.
They’ve already got scripts and preliminary art work and say they’re super excited. I’m guessing it’ll be a couple years before we see it. Meanwhile, the 2nd half of the last season should be out in………… who knows? They haven’t even begun filming yet. They start that in June. So, I’m thinking another year when all the kids are 38.
