LPD Looking For Driver Who Rammed Police Cruiser

By Tom Stanton Apr 28, 2023 | 10:55 AM

Lincoln Police are looking for the driver of a car they say rammed a police cruiser just after 8:00 Thursday morning.  LPD Public Information Officer Erika Thomas says it happened in an alley off S. 19th between Washington and Garfield Streets.

“Witnesses say the man was meeting someone he knew when they began to argue. As he rapidly backed out of the parking stall, his passenger fell out of the vehicle and sustained a minor injury to his head,” Thomas says.

The driver of the small blue coup continued reversing and intentionally struck the police cruiser twice before driving off. The officer was not injured. Damage to the cruiser is estimated at $1,000.  Anyone with information is asked to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
