First HBO Max started getting rid of a lot of content. Now Disney+ is set to toss a bunch as they merge with Hulu onto one single app. Maybe I should start there. Instead of pulling up Hulu and Disney separately on your device, they’re planning on putting out one app for both as single streaming service. I haven’t heard about how it’ll affect costs, but the timeline is to have this done by the end of the year. They’re doing this in response to recently losing 2 million subscribers. They also said that they’re going to produce less content.
To be honest, content is part of their problem. I only hang on to it because I’m waiting for new Star Wars and Marvel content and I’m too dumb to drop the subscription for the months in between. Outside of that, you can only watch so many behind the scenes documentaries or so-so series based on a 20 year old movie. I think I just talked myself into dropping it. The only reason I’m keeping HBO Max is because there are a couple of unfinished series that were trying to get through like “Barry”.
