The annual list of top baby names, according to Social Security, just came out today. The most popular in 2022 were Liam and Olivia. Olivia has been number one for four years now. It had been Emma before that. Emma is still running strong though at number 2 on the list. Liam has been the most popular for 6 years straight. People seem pretty comfortable with the way names have been because the only new name in the top ten was Luna.
The top 3 for girls were Olivia, Emma, and Charlotte. For boys, they were Liam, Noah, and Oliver. There seem to be a lot of names we would have heard in the late 1800s like Henry, Theodore, Amelia, and Evelyn.
Clearly, a lot of parents are fans of “Yellowstone” because the name Dutton has been picking up steam. It came in 835th, a jump of 986 spots from 2021. Wrenlee, as a girl’s name, has been climbing quickly, year to year, as well.
They started keeping track of the most popular baby names in 1997. That year, it was Michael and Emily. In 2010 it was Sophia and Aiden.
