Meet the Budweiser Clydesdale horses Friday. They’re doing a little tour of this side of Nebraska this week. Friday, they’ll be hanging out he U-Stop on 84th and Cornhusker in Lincoln from 4 to 6.
Apparently Clydesdale horses are an endangered species. There were only 80 in the entire world back in 1975. Since then, the population has gotten up to around 5,000, most of which are registered in the United States. Budweiser has their own stables dedicated to raising and taking care of just Clydesdales. Everyone knows that Clydesdale horses are big, but they are extremely strong too. They can pull up to 8,000 pounds for a short period of time. One more fun fact about these horses, they’re usually around 180 pounds when born. Their mothers produce about 100 pounds of milk a day to feed them.
