If you dare, or want a scare, here’s another haunted location in Lincoln. Follow Lake Street to Rudge Memorial Park. You can drive in off south 14th, 15th, 16th, or 17th. But once you get in, will you get out?
Probably. But you just might find yourself face to face with a ghostly apparition before you leave. As the story goes, Rudge Memorial Park was once a dairy farm and then a skating rink. Neither of which has anything to do with the ghost. But, it’s some nice background info so you can get a feel for the place, you know. Anyway, according to the legend, a long time ago, a young boy was followed into the park area by bullies. When they caught him, the killed him. Now, there have been numerous reports of people seeing a ghost near the lake, especially in the winter.
One last thing, the man that the park is named after, Charles Rudge, who gave generously to restore that very park, die suddenly of blood poisoning.
