Tom Bergeron just aired some dirty laundry about “Dancing With The Stars”…….. and he doesn’t even have a book coming out today. He left because of Sean Spicer. Yes, when producers put Trumps first Press Secretary on the show, he was…..word that rhymes with missed.
As Tom told Cheryl Burke on her podcast, it wasn’t because it was Sean Spicer. It was because they put someone political on the show. According to Tom, he’d met with the people running Dancing and they agreed that it wouldn’t be a good idea to put anyone with political ties on the show as the country was heading into the Presidential election. As Tom put it, “Just make us the wonderful escape from all that divisiveness for two hours a week.” He said everyone agreed and then they did it behind his back. Bergeron said he was furious because he’d been lied to. So, he publicly released a statement that condemned the choice without telling the producers he was going to do it. About that, he told Cheryl, ““They had screwed me, I’m going to screw them.”
Not long after that, he was fired. Tom said he knew his time on the show was up anyway.
