AAA is providing a way to keep drunk drivers off the roads this Thanksgiving. Through its Tow to Go program, would-be impaired drivers can call a dispatcher who will send a tow truck free of charge to tow the caller and their car to a safe location within a 10-mile radius.
The program goes active at 6:00 pm on Wednesday evening and runs until Monday Nov. 27 at 6:00 a.m.. Brian Ortner of AAA Nebraska tells KLIN News, “It’s just another safe option to offer people to get them home safely over the holiday weekend.”
Interstate towing is possible between Nebraska and Iowa, so long as the distance is within the 10-mile limit. AAA advises, however, that the Tow to Go program should be treated strictly as a last resort if previous plans fall through. To use the service, dial (855) 2-TOW-2-GO or (855) 286-9246.
