The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office has released more details in the death of a 34-year-old woman, whose body was found November 21 in a field near 98th and Havelock. Chief Deputy Ben Houchin says Cecilia Perez had been beaten to death.
She had been reported missing from Omaha the day her body was found, but had not been seen since November 18th. Omaha Police arrested Perez’s boyfriend in connection with her death. Houchin says they have been assisting in the case.
“As the case continued on, it was evident that the crime occurred in Omaha. We continued on with what we had done but we have transferred all of our reports and everything since it’s going to be prosecuted in Douglas County.
33-year-old Raymond Evans was arrested for criminal homicide. He had been Perez’s boyfriend for less than a year.
