An Omaha man was arrested after authorities say he fired a gun inside an Airbnb near 84th and Waverly Road Tuesday night. Lancaster County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Ben Houchin says 29-year-old David Niece was arguing with the 26-year-old Omaha woman during a party around 9:30 p.m.
Houchin says as the argument continued, the woman went into a bathroom and Niece followed her. “He pulled out a handgun from his waist and fired it into the floor,” Houchin says. “He then left the residence and fired a couple of more shots outside in an unknown direction.” He says the two know each other, but are not involved in a relationship.
“She did not believe he was aiming to hurt her or killer her, but she felt unsafe and was in fear for her life.” Deputies found Niece around 1:00 Wednesday morning at the Foxy Lady Gentlemen’s Club in Lincoln.
His pickup was found nearby and will be searched for evidence of the crime. He was booked for terroristic threats and using a weapon to commit a felony.
