Less items, more humans. Target changed self checkout rules yesterday.

Target has limited the number of items you can self-checkout to ten. That’s it, that’s all. I’m looking at you shopper with a full cart and 3 kids under 5 hanging off of it.

They’ve already tested this in a bunch of stores. It made things go a lot quicker and cut down on stealing.

I’ll be super happy to see it here, especially the Target on 48th, just off “O” street. The self-checkout line is always so long it stretches down the aisles or out to the cosmetics section of the store.

They also said that they will be opening up more checkout lines with humans, just like in the good old days. You remember don’t ya pappy? They had just invented the motorized carriages and indoor plumbing. Them were the days that you could expect  smile and a handshake from a real live person when you purchased a malted.

Anyway, the Ten Item limit went into effect at most Targets yesterday.
